The tour will begin visiting the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores which are home to the capital's financial sector, the beautiful San Isidro Golf Course and Olive Grove Park. You will see the Huaca Pucllana, a pre-inca pyramid shape temple, that has survived the expansion of modern civilisation. Then you will stop at Parque del Amor (Love Park) and enjoy a nice view of the Pacific Ocean, as we drive down the Miraflores Malecon, a road along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.

From Miraflores the group will visit downtown Lima`s historical centre (Colonial Lima), designated by UNESCO as Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1991. This impressive site was once was the centre of the 16th century Spanish colony. Visit the Plaza Mayor, Presidential Palace, Cathedral, Archbishop`s Palace, City Hall and the Desamparados Train Station. The visit will also take you to Plaza San Martin, a large park surrounded by old colonial buildings still displaying beautiful carved wood balconies and other landmarks.

Day 1:
Your journey starts after arriving to Puerto Maldonado, where the staff will welcome you at the airport and provide the necessary information for your stay. 

Navigate by outboard motorised canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion for approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy lunch with organic ingredients and native flavours. 

After lunch, take a walk through Concepcion Trails, the on property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. 

At dusk, navigate by outboard motorised canoe, on a Twilight River Excursion. By sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animals, and the southern constellations. 

In the evening enjoy a nice dinner in the Casa Grande’s dining room.

The sun rises once again and after an early breakfast, you will take our Native Farm excursion where you will be able to learn local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the products during the visit. 

Next, visit the Botanical Garden, discover the immense variety of medicinal plants considered part of the “natural pharmacy” used by the habitants in the amazon region. Compare the medicinal uses of local medicine with traditional remedies. 

Arrive back to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion and have lunch. 

After relaxing for a bit, get ready for the Cocha water excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion natural pond (cocha). Try native fishing applying the “catch and release” techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins (Opisthocomus hoazin), a diversity of fly catchers, and gray-necked woodrails (Aramides cajanea). Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steam boat; learn about its history and how it inspired Inkaterra to ask Werner Herzog to film the award-winning “Fitzcarraldo”, best director at Cannes, 1982. 

You will be able to participate in the Inland Collpa during the evening, where you will see different species and their night routines by observing through our “blinds”. 

End up your day with a pleasant dinner back at the lodge.

After breakfast at the lodge, ride back to Puerto Maldonado by outboard motorized canoe. You will arrive at the Butterfly House where you may wait for your flight to your next destination, while visiting this beautiful Butterfly House and learning about the fascinating transformation of these colorful insects.

From the Butterfly House you will be transferred to the airport.

To allow your body to adapt to altitude, we will transfer you directly from arrival at the Cuzco airport (3,400 m.a.s.l) to the Sacred Valley (2,800 m.a.s.l.) This is much lower than Cuzco, but still higher than Machu Picchu which is 2,400 m.a.s.l. 

We recommend you spend this afternoon staying hydrated, relaxing and eating very light food. Altitude can slow digestion and dehydration can occur.

Please do avoid being overly active this afternoon as it is likely you will feel the effects of altitude.

The name “Parakitampu”derives from the Quechua words “pakari”, which means “dawn” and “tampu” which means “home”. Pakaritampu Hotel is in the heart of the Sacred Valley, located in the village of Ollantaytambo. It is a short walk to the train station with direct connection to Machu Picchu, and one hour and a half drive from the city of Cuzco.

The town of Ollantaytambo is the starting point of the Inca Trail, a beautiful place that offers various tourist attractions.

Rooms here will provide you with a private bathroom with hot water and toiletries, a digital safety-deposit box, a TV with cable channels, amenities, WiFi access, a phone, and a garden and mountain view. A heater can be requested.

After breakfast you will be picked up at your hotel to start the tour.

First you will visit Pisac, a picturesque town located 32km northeast of Cuzco. Its colourful markets take place every day. Here merchants sell all sorts of handicrafts, the most important of which are the textiles and ceramic goods such as ceremonial goblets called "Q'eros", plates, ashtrays, necklace and replicas of pre-Hispanic pottery.

Lunch will be included at a local restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit the remarkable fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas. A very steep stone staircase leads into the fortress. Across an esplanade there is a temple with 10 niches, and beside it a block of partially unworked stones. Beyond another esplanade, six huge rectangular monoliths (estimated weight: 50 tons) form the Temple of the Sun. Vestiges of rooms are seen on top of the fortress, and on the other side of the hill a four storey building, believed to be either a military school or prison.

After the tour you will be transferred to your hotel.

Visit Maras & Moray on your All Terrain Bike (ATB). Drive through the remote villages and agricultural fields with beautiful landscapes, looking for a alternative experience to visit the historical Inca legacy.

The ATB tour starts with a driving lesson to teach you how to ride your quad bike  After that, you will visit the village of Maras and continue the adventure for a visit  to the archaeological complex of Moray.

You will visit the salt mines before returning to the base at Pata Cruz from where you will be transferred back the hotel in Ollantaytambo village.

Ollantaytambo is a village in the Sacred Valley of south Peru, set on the Urubamba River amid snow-capped mountains. It's known for the Ollantaytambo ruins, a massive Inca fortress with large stone terraces on a hillside. Major sites within the complex include the huge Sun Temple and the Princess Baths fountain. The village's old town is an Inca-era grid of cobblestoned streets and adobe buildings.

After breakfast and the morning at leisure, you will go to Aguas Calientes via train from Ollantaytambo town.

Spend the time at leisure in Aguas Calientes exploring the small town. There is a craft market here, however, many similar items can be found at a better price in Cuzco. You can also visit the 'hot waters' (hot springs) that gave the town its name.

Today you will climb Huayna Picchu Montain and have a guided tour of the Machu Picchu citadel. Full logistical details will be provided upon your arrival to Aguas Calientes.

Well known as ‘The Lost City of the Incas’, Machu Picchu was built around 1450, but abandoned 100 years later at the time of the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire. In 1911 Hiram Bingham, an American historian discovered its existence with its classic Inca style. The main buildings of Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows, are located in the Sacred District of Machu Picchu.

Huayna Picchu is the towering mountain behind the actual site of Machu Picchu. From a distance the mountain looks impossible to climb without the necessary tools but even though a strenuous climb with some parts where you will actually will need both hands and feet, the climb is quite possible for all averagely fit visitors. For many people climbing Huayna Picchu is one of the highlights when visiting Machu Picchu. The climb itself is interesting as you will see how the Inca did cut out some steps out of the rocks and as you wind around the side of a mountain will see Machu Picchu from different angles.

Next you will be transferred by bus to the gates of Machu Picchu where you will have a private guided tour of Machu Picchu. You will then have free time to explore the site at your own leisure. You will return via train from Aguas Calientes to your Cuzco hotel via train and transfer. Depending on when you travel, the logistics are as follows. 

May to December Return Logistics:
From May to December, the train runs from Aguas Calientes station all the way to Poroy Station just 25 mins outside of Cuzco. Your private transfer will be waiting for you at the Poroy Station to take you to your Cuzco hotel.

January to April Return Logistics:
From January to April, the train runs only from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo Station. From there, everyone on the train boards shared coaches for the drive from Ollantaytambo Station to Wanchaq Station (just 5 minutes from the centre of Cuzco). This shared coach is operated by Peru Rail.

Your private transfer will be waiting for you at the Wanchaq Station to take you to your Cuzco hotel.

Afterwards, our tour continues in the Imperial City, we will stroll through the Main Square, where we will discover the Cathedral and admire its exquisite vestibules and priceless paintings from the Cusco School of the 17th and 18th centuries. You will be picked up from your hotel in Cuzco between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. (this depends on the location of your hotel). The group will then drive to Mollepata where you will have breakfast in Casa Salkantay restaurant. After breakfast the trip continues with a 1 hour and 30 minute drive, arriving at Soraypampa place.  Here you will begin the walk to the Humantay Lagoon, depending on your fitness level it will be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.  After arriving to Humantay Lagoon, you will have around 40 minutes to explore, take photos and appreciate the beauty of the lagoon with your guide. You will then walk back to Soraypampa where you will have lunch and enjoy some time to relax before getting back on the bus to return to Cuzco. You will arrive back to Cuzco at approximately 5:00 pm in the afternoon.

After breakfast, you must check out at your hotel and be ready as a representative will transfer you to the Bus Terminal.

Here you will join a shared tourist bus from Cuzco to Puno (10 hours) with two stops in local communities (Includes entrance fees). Early in the morning you will depart from Cuzco for Puno on board a comfortable vehicle. This trip will allow you to enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Andes. During the trip, you will make a brief stop at Andahuaylillas, a friendly, warm-weather town which is home to one of the most unique churches in the Andes, known as Peru’s Sistine Chapel. Puno - Copacabana - Sun Island (South) - Inti Wata Complex- Titikaka Lake - La Paz

This full day experience starts with an early land transfer from Puno, across the boarder to Copacabana on the Bolivian side of the lake. Next you will board the Catamaran Cruise and enjoy a snack on board while sailing to Sun Island, the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. 

Visit the Inca Garden, steps and fountain followed by exploring the Inti Wata Cultural Complex. In the afternoon you will be picked up from your hotel to start this city tour. 

Santa Cruz is, today, the second most important city in Bolivia as it is the "Eastern Capital" of Bolivia, with its original urban structure concentric rings. Here, in the tall buildings and sumptuous suburban villas, the magnates of tropical agriculture and the oil industry live.  It stands on the Pirai River in the tropical lowlands east of the Andes Mountains. Founded by the Spanish in the 1500s, today it's a cosmopolitan hub with museums, restaurants and nightclubs 

We will visit the most prominent places and monuments such as the ancient district with its exaggeratedly raised sidewalks and surrounded by arcades. Inside there is the Main Square and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, first built in 1609. Then, a walk through La Recoba, the craft market before returning to your hotel.

This morning, your driver will meet you at your hotel and you will begin your journey to Samaipata. The drive will be 120km and will take approximately 3.5 hours. Along the journey you will see a panorama full of vegetation.

Upon arrival you will have lunch at a local restaurant and then visit of the "El Fuerte" fortress erected on a mountain. It is one of the most important manifestations of rock art in South America. Samaipata has been declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Located at the end of a mountain, the site senses zoomorphic figures carved on the rock as symbols with an unknown meaning by creating hypotheses. You will have a panoramic view of the valley and the mountains around the site and then get a chance to walk around and visit the museum before returning to your hotel. 

This is an enchanting boutique hotel in the form of a colonial town from western Bolivia, hence the name. It has it's own central square with a chapel, lookouts and ruins. After checking out of your hotel, your private driver will start the journey towards Amboró Park. En route you will stop at Bermejo to visit the small but beautiful waterfalls sunk into a cave. You will then continue onto your accommodation which is hidden in a valley surrounded by forests and tropical waterfalls. It is located south of the Amboró National Park. This park has an area of 442,500 hectares. It is the humid and mountainous forest, sub-Andean rain forest, dry and deciduous. The park is home to 124 species of mammals including jaguars, pumas, spider monkeys and condors. You will have the chance to walk around this area and lunch will be on the road. 

Refugio Los Volcanes is located on the southern border of Amboró National Park and is roughly two hours drive from the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Tucked away in a deep valley, Refugio Los Volcanes offers spectacular views of sandstone rock cliffs as well as the tropical forests which surround the sanctuary. There are also plenty of hiking trails offering opportunities to appreciate the flora and fauna.

World renowned ornithologists such as Ridgeley, Tudor and others have visited Refugio Los Volcanes on several opportunities – their bird lists register more than 200 species- and the local botanist Roberto Vasquez has identified more than 100 species of orchids and bromeliads.

 Amboró Park is a small yet incredibly diverse area  is home to the worlds highest recorded bird numbers and also hosts a huge amount of wildlife. Only 50 percent of this park has ever been explored making it one of the least visited National Parks on the planet. The park offers incredible adventures where you can have excellent birding , trekking ,wildlife viewing , swimming in pristine waterfalls and rivers as well as visiting the ancient giant fern forests. Because of its vast array of eco systems Amboro is one of the very best places in the world to see Wildlife. Species of note include the Harpy Eagle, Andean Condor, Military Macaw, Touca Toucan and more Amboro is also home to healthy populations of Jaguars Pumas, Tapirs, Ocelots, Spider Monkeys, Giant Anteater, Giant Armadillo, Sloths and more. Here are some of the things to do whilst visiting this area:

Hiking: Hiking opportunities for all are plentiful with a vast network of trails.
Wild Swimming: Swim, shower, revive and refresh in the numerous natural pools and waterfalls formed by the Elvira Creek
Birding: This park has over 830 different species of birds which is the highest recorded number of any park on the planet.
Star-Gazing: The clean air, absence of light pollution and spectacular surroundings, make it one of the best star gazing locations in Bolivia. The Milky Way is often clearly visible and with a bit of luck you can see shooting stars.

After lunch, your driver will pick you up an take you back to Santa Cruz which will take approximately 2 hours.

Full day excursion to the Uyuni Salt flat, the world's largest salt deposit (around 10.000 km2), which is the most impressive and unforgettable experience of this 3 day trip. 

Before arriving to the salt flat, you will visit Colchani, a traditional salt refinement center to see how it is processed and used.  Lunch will be served in the middle of the salt desert.

From a distance, the Uyuni Salt Flat seems to be a large ice-skating rink or glacier. The tour begins by heading towards the famous Incahuasi Island (formerly known as the Fish island) covered with petrified algae and huge cactus. There is a nice panoramic view of the surrounding area from the top as the 'island' is surrounded by a sea of white salt.

After exploring the island, taking many photos using the unique depth perspective provided by the uninterrupted salt flats, you will continue on to San Pedro de Quemez. On the way, visit to a natural rock formation Cueva de las Galaxias.

Located south of the Uyuni Salt Flat in an environment of majestic mountains the Tayka de Piedra Hotel welcomes visitors who travel through this area in search of new and unforgettable experiences.

Today you will drive across the vast high plateau to reach the lookout of Ollagüe Volcano stopping at beautiful sites along the way.

In the afternoon, you will visit three of the smaller lagoons in the area including Honda, Cañapa, Hedionda and Chiar Khota. A variety of endemic Andean bird species, including the famous 'James Flamingo' can be found. 

After visiting the lagoons, continue to your hotel for the evening.

In the middle of an incomparable spot, painted with a range of colors that nature has whimsically combined, is the Tayka del Desierto Hotel, in the heart of the Siloli Desert.

Today is an early starting and you will stop for breakfast along the way to the first sights of the day. 

Visit the “Arbol de Piedra”, a surreal natural rock formation in the middle of Siloli’s desert. Next you will visit Laguna Colorada. This lagoon owes its intense red-brick colour to the light sensitive phytoplankton present in its water.

Next, continue to head north for an excursion to the Sol de Mañana Geysers (el. 4850 m.a.s.l.), a volcanic crater from which sulphuric fumes and heavy water escape, then cross the Dali Desert (named after the scenery reminiscent of one of his paintings). Box Lunch.

Finally, you will reach the Lagunas Blanca and Verde, at the foot of volcanoes Juriques and Licancabur (el. 5960 m). There is a curious phenomenon: when the wind picks up, the waters of Laguna Verde changes to a spectacular emerald colour.
