Anchored like a ship by Lake Pehoé, at the heart of Torres del Paine National Park, explora Patagonia has a privileged location from where to go out and explore the park. All our programs include accommodation, transfers from and to the airport, meals and beverages, and a menu of more than 40 exploration routes designed by our outdoors team.

explora Patagonia was designed as the perfect base from where to explore Torres del Paine National Park. With an exclusive location and unparalleled views, you can choose among 40 explorations –either hiking or horseback riding– to some of the circuits of the renowned W and other less explored routes that will help you get familiarized with the typical geography and wildlife of Patagonia.

Day 1: Arrival into Torres del Paine and settle into explora Patagonia

Upon arrival at either Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, El Calafe or Cerro Castillo there will be fixed transfer to Torres del Piane and explora hotel. Once there, settle into your new luxury surroundings and enjoy your first dinner. 

Our dishes have been designed to enable guests to perform various explorations and still feel light, agile, and healthy. Furthermore, based on our luxury of the essential, we seek to offer pure flavors from quality ingredients. Bringing out the best of each product is our motto. Our dishes are always accompanied by a superb Chilean wine. We also carry a menu of Premium wines for those that would like to try other alternatives.

Located inside Torres del Paine National Park, by the shore of Pehoé Lake, Explora Patagonia offers all-inclusive packages for 3 nights or more.

Our rooms are the perfect combination of simplicity and comfort in order to ensure a deep rest after a day of exploration. With amazing views to the Paine Massif, Paine River or Salto Chico Falls, their welcoming and cozy decoration make them a unique place to disconnect yourself and enjoy.  They are all fitted with a private bathroom, a safety-deposit box and heating and has free WiFi access is available in the common areas.

Our base is a hotel built for linking man to temporary space – present and past- and the mysteries of nature. explora Patagonia is located at the center of the Torres del Paine National Park, the heart of Patagonia, declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Its construction is based around essential luxuries, allowing the traveler to inhabit the remote location in its essence without distractions. Wood plays a fundamental role in its design, with species such as lenga, cypress and almendrillo.

explora Patagonia is the only hotel in the area with its own horses, bred and trained especially by us for our traveler’s horse expeditions. Guests staying at Explora are welcome to use the heated pool, sauna and the outdoor hot tubs, located steps away from Paine River. In addition local flavours can be enjoyed at the dining hall.

Wake up surrounded by the breathtaking views of Torres del Paine. Today is yours to select from a large range of excursions provided by Explora, There are plenty of options to choose from ! You may want start the day with the impressive full day Glaciar Grey hike. Where we'll cross the Pehoé Lake by catamaran to the Paine Grande refuge to cross one of the stretches of the W. 

Around the midpoint of the hike, we can see the Grey Glacier and the Southern Ice Fields. We continue walking to the beach of Grey Lake where we board a boat that brings us to the glacier and then leaves us on the other side of the lake. We'll walk along the beach and through a forest to the van before returning to the hotel. 

Or for those more adventurous  you can hike to the Base Torres. This exploration goes through one of the most iconic sectors of the W. We travel by van to the Cerro Paine ranch where we begin our ascent to the base of the Torres del Paine. At the top, we can appreciate the magnitude of the granite towers and the lagoon at our feet. We return by the same road.

Today is another day to explore this beautiful landscape. You may want to relax and enjoy the spa amenities at explora. Our massage room and pool area are located 100 meters away from the main building, connected by a sloped wood path. It is equipped with a heated, covered pool, sauna, and four open-air jacuzzis with views to the Paine River. Inside, you can choose from our essential oils massages: therapeutic, relaxation, energetic, and more. 

Or you may want to experience Torres del Paine via horseback, with explora being the only hotel in the area with its own horses, bred and trained especially by us for our traveler’s horse expeditions. Our 26 horses of different breeds and crosses have been raised in the Ibáñez family estate in the central valley of Chile. Their care is the responsibility of a team led by Gaela Hourcq, veterinarian horse specialist. 

On your last day here, you may want to choose one last half day exploration before your fixed transfer will pick you up and take you to your onward destination.
