Chile’s Central Valley

This suggested itinerary is an add on for clients staying in Santiago. You will be picked up from your hotel in Santiago to begin this itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Santiago and begin the journey to Valparaiso. Along the way you will be whisked away to the countryside for a tour through the vast fertile lands of central Chile. The road will lead us through wonderful and important grape-growing valleys including Curacaví, known for its fruits and for its broad variety of restaurants offering typical Chilean food. 

As part of this excursion, we will enjoy a tour and tasting at two of the many boutique wineries that are part of this flourishing wine route. We will visit two vineyards: Casas del Bosque and Matetic (3 wines at Casas del Bosque Winery + 2 wines at Matetic Winery) 

Afterwards you will be transferred to your hotel in Valparaiso. 

This boutique hotel in Cerro Concepcion is a heritage building from 1930. The remodel has respected it's original qualities transforming it into a contemporary and comfortable hotel full of details. The welcoming, friendly, flexible and diverse space was created by hand. 

Enjoy the beautiful, yet simple, rooms and don't forget to visit the secret garden. 

After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel to begin this full day tour. We will start our excursion heading towards Isla Negra, on the central coast, where we will visit the house of the famous poet Pablo Neruda, Nobel Prize winner in 1971. His house, overlooking the ocean, was built as an escape from the bustle of Santiago. He used to come here mainly looking for inspiration to write his well-known poems. The house preserves his collection of antique bottles, Indian masks and nautical artifacts. Afterwards, we will drive along the wonderful Casablanca Valley to get to an important maritime La Sebastiana Museum. 

We will then continue to the city of Viña del Mar. Because of its many parks of huge trees and palms Viña del Mar has gained the well-deserved name of 'Garden City'. We will also learn about its history and visit the beaches and the Casino. In the late afternoon, before returning to the hotel, we will pass the agricultural valleys of Curacaví and Casablanca, a region known for its premium white wine production. 

Valparaíso is a port city on Chile’s coast. It's known for its steep funiculars and colorful clifftop homes. Here we suggest you to walk around the colourfull hills to admire the street art work, get a tea and a cake in one of the various coffee shop, have lunch in a restautant with a view of the bay and for an atentic dinner, we suggest to visit the "Restaurant Cinzano", is one of the more traditional bars- restaurant near the harbor.

"La Sebastiana" is the quirky former residence of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda which now is a museum with far-reaching Pacific views that you can visit on your own time as well.

You will have the day to explore your surroundings one last time before taking an afternoon transfer back to Santiago. 

Note: This transfer will take approximately 1.5 hours and can take you to Santiago airport or Santiago hotel.

In the early 80’s and thanks to the climatic features of the area, the Casablanca Valley became the most suitable place for the wine-making industry. On this full day tour, you will be picked from your hotel and begin with the first stop at William Cole Vineyard. We will take a walk through the facilities to learn about the history of William Cole and about the wine-making process. Before we leave, we will be welcome to taste some of the vineyards best wines. 

We will then continue our tour through the Valley towards another nearby vineyard, Viñamar. This place is located in the high part of Casablanca and it was founded with the purpose of producing the most exceptional red, white and sparkling wines in the country. We will have the opportunity to visit every corner of the vineyard to learn the secrets of their products and have a wine tasting of their specialties: sparkling wine (Brut), Chardonnay, special reserve Merlot and a glass of Cabernet + Carmenere blend. Afterwards, we will visit the vineyards restaurant to enjoy a full course lunch accompanied by, of course, a glass of wine. After this amazing day full of delicious wine and food, we will return to your hotel, and depending on your itinerary, will then transfer back to Santiago.
