Uruguay is a small country of just under 3.5 million habitants nestled on the coast between Argentina and Brazil. While small in size, this country is considered the most socially advanced in South America with many personal freedoms not found elsewhere in the continent.

When is the best time to visit Uruguay?

Uruguay has a temperate climate. This means you can expect a climate that is mild, with rainfall evenly distributed throughout the year. Temperatures rarely fall below freezing and range from 10C to 16C during winter from June to September. During summer (December to March) temperatures range from 21C to 28C.

The best time to visit Uruguay is October through March, when the sun shines and temperatures are mild. Punta del Este overflows with tourists from Argentina in summer; if you're seeking a more relaxed time to visit the beaches of the coast, consider going between October and December.
