Santiago at a Glance

Your transfer will be waiting with your name on a sign. They will have limited English but good enough to guide you to your transfer. They will ensure you receive your documentation for your Chile trip.  

You will be picked up from your hotel for this shared tour.

You will explore the historical and modern sights of Santiago de Chile. The tour starts at the main avenue Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins with a visit to La Moneda, which is the Government Palace, where you will learn about the historical and modern importance. 

Next you will walk through the pedestrian streets of Huérfanos and Ahumada, where the main commercial activity of the city is concentrated. The famous main square of the city called 'Plaza de Armas' is your next stop. The plaza is surrounded by the Metropolitan Cathedral and other key historical buildings. You will continue on and visit Santa Lucia hill, the hilltop upon which the Spanish founded Santiago in 1541. 

Santa Lucia is a beautiful area to explore with extensive gardens and an antique building rising steeply overlooking the city below. Next you will cross the Mapocho River and enter the Bellavista area, the cultural and artistic neighborhood of Santiago. 

Bellavista lies at the foot of the San Cristóbal Hill, the highest point of the city in the middle of the Metropolitan Park. You will ascend the hill to explore the surroundings and enjoy panoramic views of the city. The last stop is a visit to Providencia with its top restaurants, elegant shops and modern high-rise buildings. 

After this tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.

The boutique Orly Hotel is situated in popular Providencia, just 5 minutes’ walk from Los Leones Avenue. It features a restaurant, on-site car rental and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

All guest rooms at the Orly Hotel are equipped with air conditioning, a minibar and a TV. In addition every room features a telephone, a hairdryer and an en suite bathroom.

Breakfast is served in the glass-roofed conservatory. The hotel’s restaurant is open throughout the day and serves a diverse menu of local and international cuisines.

Providencia is a great choice for travellers interested in wine, restaurants and scenery.

In the morning you will be picked up at your hotel and depart Santiago towards the Andes mountains. Located to the southeast of the city, Cajón del Maipo is known for its massifs, hills, and rivers and is a great spot for nature lovers looking to explore some of Chile's great outdoors not too far from Santiago. 

On this private tour, you will have a beautiful full day experience of Cajon del Maipo. will visit the historical town of San Jose del Maipo with local shops and handmade crafts. After a stop there, continue further into the canyon until San Alfonso, an area surrounded by the Andes and from here you can begin the walk out to El Embalse del Yeso (El Yeso Dam) if desired.

You will enjoy the serene surroundings and have opportunities to stop and purchase some delicious local food (lunch at your own cost) and crafts. Mid afternoon we will call it a day and head back to Santiago.

Note: We can arrange a horse back ride or additional adventure activities like rafting or ziplining if desired. These activities will have an extra cost.

Today we will visit the wonderful city of Valparaiso (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) where we will fall in love with its natural beauty and Chilean charm. There, we will take a ride on one of the town’s typical cable cars that will lead to a magnificent lookout point. Afterwards we will stroll along the Atkinson and Gervasoni boardwalks; full of history from when this important port city was considered “The Jewel of the Pacific” (before the opening of the Panama Canal). From there we will head to Plaza Sotomayor a significant landmark honoring the heroes of Iquique and the Pacific War. Last but not least we will visit the La Sebastiana Museum, a place of inspiration for the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1971). After a full morning we will then make our way to Viña del Mar (the garden city), a well- known Chilean seaside town with fascinating natural beauty, cuisine and lifestyle. We will walk the waterfront and visit the city’s major attractions including the parks, statues and gardens.

Note: When entering the museum you will receive an audioguide, our guide does not enter with you.
